Molina, Schoeffler, Swenson et al. Join Maroulis in Rock of Ages

Full casting has been announced for the Off-Broadway musical Rock of Ages, which will begin an open-ended run at New World Stages on October 1. The production, which will open officially on October 16, will be directed by Kristin Hanggi.

Written by Chris D’Arienzo and using the music of such classic rock bands as Journey, Styx, Bon Jovi, Asia, and REO Speedwagon, the musical focuses on a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who meet in 1987 at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise.

In addition the previously announced Constantine Maroulis, the show will feature Kelli Barrett, Nova Bergeron, Jackie Burns, Adam Dannheisser, Mitchell Jarvis, Lara Janine, Michele Mais, Lauren Molina, Brian Munn, Angel Reed, Paul Schoeffler, Wesley Taylor, Savannah Wise, Will Swenson, Tad Wilson and Jeremy Woodward.

The show’s creative team will include Kelly Devine (choreography), Beowulf Borrit (sets), Gregory Gale (costumes), Jason Lyons (lighting), and Ethan Popp (arrangements and orchestrations). Hanggi is best known for directing bare.

Maroulis first came to fame as a contestant on American Idol. He has starred on Broadway in The Wedding Singer and the Off-Broadway revival of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.
