McKay, Wainwright, Yazbek, et al. to Perform at Spiegelworld

David Yazbek will perform selections from his Ghostlight Records’ CD Evil Monkey Man at 9:30pm on Monday, September 15 at Spiegelworld at Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport as part of its concert series.

The CD, which was released earlier this year, contains 14 original songs, including “Monkey Baby Hanging on Chicken Wire,” “That Old Lucky Sun,” “Bazooka Joe,” “It Isn’t Fair,” and “Eight Evil Men.” Yazbek also received Tony Award nominations for writing the scores to the Broadway musicals The Full Monty and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Other upcoming concerts at Spiegelworld include Martha Wainwright (September 16),
Antibalas! (October 5), Nellie McKay (October 12), John Kelly and Dargelos (October 19), and Jollyship-the-Whizbang (October 20).
