Lewis Cleale to Be Fantasticks New El Gallo on September 15

Lewis Cleale will take over the role of El Gallo in the Off-Broadway musical revival of The Fantasticks, directed by Tom Jones at the Snapple Theatre Center’s Jerry Orbach Theater, on Monday, September 15. He replaces Dennis Parlato.

Written by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, the musical is based on Les Romanesques by Edmond Rostand, and tells the story of a young boy and girl who fall madly in love at the hands of their meddling fathers, but soon grow restless and stray from one another. The production features Nick Spangler, Margaret Ann Jones, Tom Flagg, Gene Jones, Jordan Nichols, Steve Routman, Michael Nostrand, Evy Ortiz, Scott WIllis, and John Thomas Waite.

Cleale’s many stage credits include Amour, Once Upon a Mattress, Swinging on a Star, Sunset Boulevard, South Pacific, and Call Me Madam.
