John Cullum Temporarily Joins Broadway’s August: Osage County

John Cullum will play the role of Beverly Weston in Tracy Letts’ award-winning play August: Osage County, during Michael McGuire’s vacation, from Tuesday, September 16 until Sunday, September 21, according to The New York Times. No word on whether Cullum will take over the part when McGuire departs later this year to participate in the show’s London production.

Cullum is a two-time Tony Award winner for Shenandoah and On the Twentieth Century, and appeared on stage last season in Cymbeline and The Conscientious Objector. He is also well known for his work on the television series Northern Exposure.

August: Osage Country is directed by Anna D. Shapiro and currently stars Robert Foxworth, Kimberly Guerrero, Brian Kerwin, Madeleine Martin, Mariann Mayberry, Amy Morton, Sally Murphy, Estelle Parsons, Molly Regan, Jim True-Frost, Troy West, and Frank Wood. The play won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2008 Tony Award among numerous other honors.
