Champion, Latessa, Vidnovic, Watson, Ziemba, et al. to Salute Jones and Schmidt

The Kaufman Center at Merkin Hall’s popular Broadway Close-Up series will launch on Monday, October 6 with an evening devoted to work of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt , with guest stars Marge Champion, Donna English, Ken Kantor, Dick Latesssa, Donald Saddler, Nick Spanger, Martin Vidnovic, Susan Watson, and Karen Ziemba.

Sean Hartley will host the concert, which will also feature an appearance by Jones. The pair composed such shows as The Fantasticks, 110 in the Shade, I Do! I DO!, Mirette, and Celebration.

Other offerings in the series will include salutes to the music of Richard Maltby and David Shire, with guest stars Loni Ackerman, Sally Mayes, and Lynne Wintersteller (November 13); and the annual Bound for Broadway preview of new musicals, hosted by Liz Callaway (December 8).
