That same evening, Opening Act hosted a benefit performance of A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters performed by former Gypsy co-stars John Dossett and Bernadette Peters.

That same night, Mamma Mia! welcomed back co-star Judy McLane to the role of Tanya after a prolonged hiatus. Here’s McLane (left) with co-stars Carolee Carmello and Gina Ferrall in the show’s “Dancing Queen” sequence.
The trio’s love interests are now played by Ben Livingston, Christopher Shyer, and Pearce Bunting. Lucky ladies, huh?
On September 27, Primary Stages officially debuted the long-awaited New York premiere of Horton Foote’s delightful comedy Dividing the Estate. At the show’s after-party at Sarabeth’s, the 91-year-old Pulitzer Prize-winner posed with his daughters Hallie — who gives a brilliant performance as the mercenary Mary Jo Gordon — and Daisy, a noted playwright herself.
Director Michael Wilson (far right) embraces his sublime stars: Penny Fuller, Gerald McRaney, and Elizabeth Ashley, who play three members of the troubled Gordon family.
The opening night guests included Tony winner Victoria Clark, whose first solo album is due out in November from PS Classics…
…the beloved stage and television star Polly Holliday, best known for her work as Flo in the TV series Alice…
…and stage favorite Marian Seldes, who co-starred in the Primary Stages production of Terrence McNally’s Dedication, or the Stuff of Dreams
And here’s a parting shot of Ashley relaxing at the after-party with two other great dames: Hollywood musical legend Jane Powell and Tony and Emmy Award-winner Tyne Daly.
