Jim J. Bullock Joins Hairspray Cast as Wilbur September 18

Jim J. Bullock will join the cast of Hairspray in the role of Wilbur Turnblad tonight, Tuesday, September 18. He replaces Jerry Mathers in the role.

Bullock previously played Wilbur on Broadway in 2005. He was the recipient of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle for his performance in the west coast premiere of When Pigs Fly and appeared off-Broadway in End of the World Party. His film and television credits include Too Close for Comfort, Alf, The Jim J. and Tammy Faye Show, Switch, and Space Balls. He is also the voice of the title character in Queer Duck.

The Broadway cast includes Paul Vogt as Edna, Shannon Durig as Tracy, Niki Scalera as Penny, Ashley Parker Angel as Link Larkin, Michele Pawk as Velma Von Tussle, Tevin Campbell as Seaweed, Lance Bass as Corny Collins, Ashley Spencer as Amber Von Tussle, and Darlene Love as Motormouth Maybelle.
