Harris, Keach, Plummer, Rees, Smart, et al. Added to LATW Season

Additional casting has been announced for L.A. Theatre Works’ The Play’s The Thing series of performances at the Skirball Cultural Center. These shows are taped for future radio broadcast.

The series kicks off with Bertolt Brecht’s The Life of Galileo, October 17-21, starring Stacy Keach, Alex Kingston, Julian Sands, Kenneth Danziger, Jeannie Elias, Christopher Neame, Moira Quirk, Darren Richardson, Alan Shearman, W. Morgan Shepard, Simon Templeman, Douglas Weston, Jill Gascione, and Matthew Wolf.
It will be followed by Lydia Diamond’s Stick Fly (November 14-18) starring Carl Lumbly, Justine Bateman, Kimberly Elise and Dule Hill. Next up, Kate Burton and Roger Rees will co-star in George Bernard Shaw’s Major Barbara (December 12-16).

As 2008 begins, Edward Asner will star in Bob Clyman’s Secret Order (January 16-20), followed by John Glover, Ron Rifkin, and Patricia Wettig in Jon Robin Baitz’s The Paris Letter (February 20-24). Then, John Vickery, Bo Foxworth, James Gleason, Russell Soder, Tom Virtue, and Geoffrey Wade will star in Geoffrey Cowan and Leroy Aarons’ Top Secret: Battle for the Pentagon Papers (March 12-16).

The season continues with Gregory Itzin and Jean Smart in Julie Marie Myatt’s Boats on a River (April 9-13), Harriet Harris, John Michael Higgins, Cristine Rose, and Maggie Welsh in Noel Coward’s Tonight at 8:30 (May 14-18), Amanda Plummer and David Selby in Tennessee Williams’ Summer and Smoke (June 18-22), and Henry Winker and Josh Radnor in Neil Simon’s Broadway Bound (July 9-13).
