Andrea McArdle to Host NYMF’s Broadway Idol

Andrea McArdle will host the New York Musical Theatre Festival’s Broadway Idol, to be held at 10pm on Fridays, September 21, 28 and October 5 at Stitch Bar & Lounge (247 West 37th Street). The event will be directed by Jess McLeod and Christopher D. Littlefield will serve as musical director.

This year’s contestants, Laura Daniel, Nick Dothèe, Henry Gainza, Gabrielle Maes, Auri Marcus, DeMond B. Nason, Stephanie Pitsiladis, George Psomas, Isabel Santiago, and Alysha Umphress, will perform in three rounds of singing competition — “My Favorite Things,” “Broadway Rocks!” and “Star to Be” — when they will be judged by a celebrity panel and by audience members. Celebrity judges will include Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Manoel Felciano, Denis O’Hare, Lonny Price, Anthony Rapp, and Marc Shaiman.
