Tony Award winner Victoria Clark and playwright Nicky Silver will star in the Vineyard Theater’s production of Silver’s The Agony and the Agony, December 8-22. The production, which will be part of the Vineyard’s members-only LAB series, will be directed by Terry Kinney.

The Agony and the Agony concerns a once-celebrated, now desperate playwright (Silver) and his ambitious actress-wife (Clark). Silver’s other plays, which were also produced by the Vineyard, include Pterodactyls, Raised in Captivity, The Eros Trilogy, and Beautiful Child (which was also directed by Kinney).

Clark won the 2005 Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical for The Light in the Piazza. She is set to play Sally Durant next February in the City Center Encores! concert version of Follies. Her other Broadway credits include Urinetown, Cabaret, Titanic, and Guys and Dolls.

The Vineyard will begin its 2005-2006 season with Anne Washburn’s The Internationalist, starring Annie Parisse and Zak Orth, on October 19. For more information, call 212-352-0303 or visit www.vineyardtheatre.org.
