Patricia Heaton to Star in Second Stage’s The Scene

Emmy Award winner Patricia Heaton will star in Second Stage Theatre’s production of Theresa Rebeck’s The Scene, which will play December 12-February 4. The show, which will be directed by Rebecca Taichman, will open officially on January 11.

Rebeck’s black comedy is set in the world of New York’s entertainment scene. Heaton will play Stella, a producer of a morning television news program. Rebeck’s credits include Bad Dates, Spike Heels, and Mauritius, which will gets its world premiere at Boston’s Huntington Theatre Company next month in a production directed by Taichman.

Heaton began her acting career on the New York stage and appeared on Broadway in the gospel musical Don’t Get Started. She won two Emmy Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her work as Debra Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond. Her many other film and television credits include the TNT version of The Goodbye Girl, Space Jam, Beethoven, and Room for Two.
