Kennedy, Matthews, Simons, Stear Set for DTC’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Laurie Kennedy, Dakin Matthews, Lorca Simons, and Rick Stear will headline the Dallas Theatre Center’s production of Tennessee Williams’ classic drama Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, October 11-November 5. The production, to be directed by Richard Hamburger, will open officially on October 17.

The show’s cast will also feature Kati Brazda, Matthew Gray, Tippi Hunter, Jerry Russell, and Gary Taggart. The design team will include Christopher Barreca (sets), Anita Yavich (costumes), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting), and Fitz Patton (sound).

Kennedy, who will play Big Mama, received a Tony Award nomination for Man and Superman. Her other New York stage credits include Angels in America, Spoils of War, and All’s Well That Ends Well. Matthews, who will play Big Daddy, appeared in and adapted the Lincoln Center Theater production of Henry IV, and recently received an Ovation Award nomination for Water & Power.
Simons, who will play Maggie, appeared Off-Broadway and regionally in Collected Stories. Stear, who will play Brick, starred in the Lincoln Center Theater production of Twelfth Night and was recently seen as Katurian in the Alley Theatre’s production of The Pillowman.
