Gaby Hoffmann has replaced Kelli Garner in the cast of the Second Stage Theatre’s upcoming revival of Eric Bogosian’s 1994 play subUrbia. Directed by the author’s wife, Jo Bonney, the show will run September 7-October 29. Garner had to withdraw from the production in order to film Lars and the Real Girl.

subUrbia is about seven young Americans who gather in the parking lot of a Pakistani family’s convenience store. Also in the cast are Diksha Baku, Jessica Capshaw, Kieran Culkin, Michael Esper, Halley Feiffer, Daniel Eric Gold, Manu Narayan, and Peter Scanavino. The creative team includes Richard Hoover (sets), Mimi O’Donnell (costumes), David Weiner (lighting), and Rob Kaplowitz (sound). Bonney, an artistic associate with the company, directed its productions of A Soldier’s Play and Living Out.

Hoffmann was most recently seen Off-Broadway in Third, and she starred in The Sugar Syndrome at the Williamstown Theatre Festival last year. Her many film credits include Field of Dreams, Everyone Says I Love You, Sleepless in Seattle, and You Can Count on Me.
