Full Cast, Creative Team Set for Prospect Theater’s The Flood

Jennifer Blood, Jamie Davis, Matt DeAngelis, A’lisa D. Miles, Joseph O’Brien, Drew Poling, Catherine Porter, and Jonathan Rayson will star in Prospect Theater Company’s production of The Flood, featuring book, music and lyrics by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel, at the Chernuchin Theatre, October 21-November 19.

Originally workshopped by the company in 2001, the show focuses on one Illinois community’s struggle against the rising tide of the Mississippi River that would wipe it off the map. The Flood will be directed by Reichel, with music direction by Justin Hatchimonji and orchestrations by Daniel Feyer. The design team includes Kanae Heike (sets), Sidney J. Shannon (costumes), Gina Scherr (lights), and Shannon Slaton (sound).

Also in the cast are Joe Bergquist, Victoria Budonis, Nick Cartell, Deborah Grausman, Carol Hickey, Greg Horton, Dan Housek, Suzanne Houston, Amy Hutchins, Roxann Kraemer, Jean McCormick, Michael Pesce, Zachary Prince, Daniel Scott Richards, Zachary Wobensmith, and Erica Wright.

Mills’ other work includes Illyria (which was recently presented as part of the New York Musical Theater Festival), The Pursuit of Persephone (for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination), Iron Curtain, and The Taxi Cabaret. He is a recipient of the 2003 Richard Rodgers New Horizons Award from the ASCAP Foundation and a 2002 grant from the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation.

Reichel recently received an IT Award nomination for her direction of Iron Curtain. Her other credits include The Pursuit of Persephone, The Book of the Dun Cow, and Dido & Aeneas. She and Mills are both founding members of the Prospect Theater Company.
