Creek, Long, McArdle, Metz, et al. Set for NYMF’s Behind the Limelight

Luther Creek, Garrett Long, Andrea McArdle, and Janet Metz will headline Behind the Limelight, Christopher Curtis’ new musical about film legend Charlie Chaplin, which will play six performances between September 19 and September 30 at the Theater at St. Clements as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF).

The production will be directed by Michael Unger, with music direction by Bryan Perri and Brian Cimmet, set design by Dan Meeker, costume design by Chloe Chapin, and lighting design by Joel Silver. The cast also includes Brooke Sunny Moriber, Michael Farina, Joel Hurt Jones, Robert Langdon-Lloyd, Sean Palmer, Scott Barnhardt, Randy Blair, Molly Curry, Sarah Darling, Danny Hallowell, Tommy Hallowell, Kristin Knudsen, and Robert Rokicki.

Creek, who will play Chaplin, has starred on Broadway in Rent, Urinetwown, and Footloose. Long, who will play Oona O’Neill Chaplin, received a Drama Desk nomination for her performance in the Off-Broadway musical The Spitfire Grill. McArdle, who will play gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, is best known for her Tony Award-nominated performance in the title role of Annie; she has also starred on Broadway in such shows as Starlight Express and Beauty and the Beast. Metz, who will play Chaplin’s mother Hanna, starred earlier this summer in the Cape Playhouse production of The Rink; her New York credits include Marie Christine, Fiddler on the Roof, and Bingo.
