Actress Lovette George Dies

Actress Lovette George, a Drama Desk Award nominee for her work in The Musical of Musicals, died on September 6.

During her career, George appeared in three Broadway shows: Uptown…It’s Hot, Carousel, and Marie Christine. In the latter two, she starred with her friend Audra McDonald.

She was seen Off-Broadway in such shows as Eating Raoul, The Green Heart, A New Brain, and Requiem for William. George was a member of the original cast of The Musical of Musicals: The Musical, appearing in both its York Theatre run and its transfer production at Dodger Stages (now New World Stages).
