Jed Bernstein, president of the League of American Theatres and Producers, Inc., has announced that he will be resigning his post at the end of the current Broadway season to concentrate on producing and marketing projects in all areas of entertainment. No replacement has yet been named.

Bernstein, who celebrated his 10th anniversary with the League in September 2005, stated: “The last decade has been professionally exhilarating for me, and I am so proud of the many things that the team at the League has accomplished. It is also a good time for the League, which is nearly at the end of a comprehensive strategic planning project that will identify new visions and directions for the organization. It deserves a fresh pair of legs to run the next lap of the race, taking this industry to new heights. I am committed to helping the League make a smooth transition during this important phase in its development.”

Among the League initiatives fostered under Bernstein’s leadership are Kids’ Night on Broadway, projects such as “Broadway on Broadway” and “Broadway Under The Stars,” and a marketing program to attract Broadway sponsors that has resulted in cash and measurable in-kind support of more than $125 million.
