Robert Cuccioli to Play Brutus in Julius Caesar

Robert Cuccioli will play Brutus in the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s production of Julius Caesar, October 11-November 13. Directed by Brian B. Crowe, the show will co-star William Metzo as Caesar, Grergory Derelian as Mark Antony, and Richard Topol as Cassius.

The show’s cast will also include Jonathan Brathwaite, Leon Addison Brown, Roxanna Hope, Raphael Peacock, John Pieza, Geddeth Smith, Derek Wilson, David Arsenault, Tristan Colton, Nathan Kaufman, Michael Littig, Jessica Ires Morris, Monal Pathak, Brian Schilb, and Patrick Toon. The creative team will consist of Harry Feiner (sets), C. David Russell (costumes), Matthew Williams (lighting), and Karin Graybash (sound).

Cuccioli is best known for his performance in the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde, for which he he won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards and received a Tony Award nomination. He has previously appeared in the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey productions of Macbeth, Antony & Cleopatra, and Enter the Guardsman. He will make a cameo appearance on Monday night in the Actors’ Fund benefit of On the Twentieth Century.

Metzo has been seen on Broadway in Arsenic and Old Lace and Cyrano; Derelian was last seen on Broadway in Metamorphoses; and Topol was part of the recent Broadway production of Julius Caesar starring Denzel Washington.
