Peter Neufeld, one of Broadway's most successful general managers and producers, and the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) have been announced as recipients of the 2005 Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre. The awards will be presented at the annual Tony Honors luncheon, to be held on October 25 at Tavern on the Green.

For more than 20 years, Neufeld was general manager and producer of a slew of Broadway hits including Sweeney Todd, Annie, Evita, and Crazy For You. For the past 10 years, he has worked at Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, organizing the charity's annual Flea Market and Grand Auction.

TCG is the national service organization for American not-for-profit theater. It currently represents 442 theaters in 47 states and the District of Columbia, as well as 17,000 individual members. TCG also supports theaters and artists by awarding $3 million in annual grants.
