Katrina Victims Benefit Concert HeartSong to Star Gaines, Kaye, et al.

Tony Award winners Boyd Gaines and Judy Kaye are among the stars set to perform in HeartSong: The Concert for New Orleans, a benefit for the victims of Hurricane Katrina on Sunday, October 16 at Symphony Space (Broadway and 95th Street). The concert will begin at 7pm.

Also scheduled to appear are Karen Akers, Brent Barrett, Bryan Batt, Judy Blazer, Charles Busch, Ann Hampton Callaway, Liz Callaway, Jim Caruso, Rick Crom, Rita Gardner, Julie Gold, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Rick Jensen, Judy Kuhn, Lina Koutrakos, Steven Lutvak, Heather MacRae, Andrea Marcovicci, Karen Mason, Sally Mayes, Andrea McArdle, Sharon McNight, Mark Nadler, Marni Nixon, Joyce Randolph, Lee Roy Reams, Steve Ross, Marilyn Sokol, Brett Somers, KT Sullivan, Julie Wilson, and others. Alex Rybeck is the concert’s music coordinator.

The event will raise funds for two charities: The Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans HeartSong Performing Artists Fund, which has been created to financially assist entertainment industry professionals in New Orleans; and The Andy Kruzich/HeartSong Animal Welfare Fund of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, which will aid organizations that are helping to rescue and house abandoned pets.
