Fogler, LaChiusa, Marshall et al. to Present New York IT Awards at Ceremony Hosted by Busch

Charles Busch will host the first annual New York Innovative Theatre (New York IT) Awards, to be presented on Monday, September 19 at the Lucille Lortel Theater. Scheduled presenters for the evening include performance artist Penny Arcade, set designer Heidi Ettinger, actor Dan Fogler, actress Julie Halston, composer Michael John LaChiusa, lighting designer Brian MacDevitt, choreographer/director Kathleen Marshall, composer Tom O’Horgan, and playwright Doric Wilson.

The awards were established to recognize the contributions and achievement of individuals and organizations in the Off-Off-Broadway arena. Nominations in 18 different categories were announced in July; for a complete list, click here.

In addition, three honorary awards will be given to individuals or organizations who have made significant artistic contributions to the Off-Off-Broadway community. The recipients are La MaMa founder Ellen Stewart (the Stewardship Award), puppeteer Basil Twist (the Artistic Achievement Award), and The Inverse Theater Company (the Caffe Cino Fellowship Award).
