Lynn Collins, Mary Stuart Masterson, Anthony Rapp, and Laila Robins will star in a special reading of Lee Blessing’s The Scottish Play at 7pm on October 4 to benefit the Red Bull Theater Company. The reading, which will be directed by Jesse Berger, will take place at The Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street). Tickets are priced at $55, $20 for industry professionals, and $10 for students.

Gerry Bamman, Henry Strozier, Haynes Thigpen, Jesse Shane Bronstein, Howard Blau, and Julie Jesnick will also appear in the play, which concerns a “cursed” Michigan production of Macbeth and which is currently receiving a full production at the La Jolla Playhouse. In related news, Red Bull’s free series Revelation Readings continues through November 2 at The Culture Project. James Urbaniak and Thomas Jay Ryan will headline a reading of a new translation of Orestes by Anne Washburn on October 10; then, on October 25, Drama Desk winner Michael Stuhlbarg and Sam Tsoutsouvas will head the cast of Beaumont and Fletcher’s The Maid’s Tragedy. On November 1, Kate Burton and Dana Ivey will star in George Etherege’s Restoration comedy The Man of Mode, or Sir Fopling Flutter. The series will conclude on November 2 with Ivey starring in April DeAngelis’s Playhouse Creatures, directed by Kate Whoriskey.
