Broadway veteran Len Cariou will star in concert performances with full orchestra of the Stephen Sondheim-James Goldman musical Follies to be presented by Overture Productions at Boston’s John Hancock Hall, 200 Berkeley Street, on November 14, 21, and 22 at 8pm.

Cariou will play the enterprising yet unfulfilled society mogul Ben Stone in Follies, which is set at a reunion of former Follies stars in a theater that’s about to be torn down. The actor-singer starred in the original Broadway productions of Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd and A Little Night Music, as well as in Applause, Dance a Little Closer, Teddy & Alice, The Dinner Party, and Proof.

The Follies concert will be directed by Spiro Velodos, with musical direction by Michael Joseph and choreography by Ilyse Robbins. Cariou will be joined by Maryann Zschau as Ben’s wife Phyllis; Frank Gayton as his one-time friend Buddy Plummer; and Leigh Barrett as his old flame Sally, now Buddy’s wife. The cast also includes Mary Callanan as Hattie, Kathy St. George as Solange, Bobbie Steinbach as Carlotta, Brad Peloquin as Roscoe, Paula Markowicz as Stella, Barbara Morash as Heidi, and Frank Aronson and Deb Poppel as Theodore and Emily Whitman. Rounding out the company are Jeanine Belcastro, Stephanie Biernbaum, Rachel Cantor, Caroline DeLima, Kate DeLima, Robert DeVivo, Dan Giles, Liane Grasso, Josh Grisetti, Heather Hannon, Jennifer Huth, Drew Poling, Brent Reno, Sean Roper, and Bill Stambaugh.
