Camp Broadway will hold auditions from which 100 young people, aged 14-18, will be selected to march in the 77th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and to perform on national television on Thursday, November 27 in a tribute to the late comedian, actor, and patriot Bob Hope.

The chosen participants will honor Hope, who died earlier this year, with a performance of the new Schermerhorn/Ehlinger song “When Hope Is There.” They will also attend Camp Broadway from Saturday, November 22 to Wednesday, November 26. These sessions of the camp will include workshops and classes in comedy, dance, make-up, and performance, as well as an introduction to the career and legacy of Hope and his lengthy history with the USO.

Auditions will be held in New York City on Saturday, October 11 at Nola Rehearsal Studios (250 West 54th Street, 11th Floor, between Sixth and Seventh avenues) and in Providence, Rhode Island on Monday, October 13 at the Providence Performing Arts Center (220 Weybosset Street). Those interested in auditioning should be prepared to learn a dance routine and to sing 16 bars of any song. Videotaped auditions will be accepted by Camp Broadway until Friday, October 3. The participation fee for those accepted will be $425.00, not including the parade costume.
