Bernadette Peters Scheduled for Vacation From Gypsy

It has just been announced that Bernadette Peters will be taking a one-week vacation from her Tony Award-nominated performance in the Sam Mendes revival of Gypsy, currently playing on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre. Peters will be out of the show for the week beginning Monday, September 29; she will return for the Monday, October 6 performance.Standby Maureen Moore — who also stood by for Peters in Song and Dance and who has appeared on Broadway in Cabaret, Sunset Blvd., Falsettos, Les Miserables, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, and many other shows — will play the role of the domineering stage mother opposite co-stars John Dossett and Tammy Blanchard in Peters’s absence.
