The York Theatre Company has announced three new musicals that will be presented as part of its fall Developmental Reading Series. All readings are open to the public, with a suggested donation of $5.
Mark Felt, Superstar, a whimsical bio-musical about the whistle-blower behind the Watergate affair, will be presented August 28 at 3pm. Directed by Annette Jolles and featuring a book, music, and lyrics by Joshua Rosenblum, the production will star John Bolton, Michael McCoy, Amy Griffin, Herndon Lackey, and Neal Mayer.
Leo Hurley and Charles Osborne's Paris Through the Window will receive a pair of performances on September 9. Directed by Jonathan S. Cerullo, the fantasy about the Marc Chagall painting of the title stars Jeffrey Denman, Patrick Osteen, and Jennifer Hope Wills, with Mick Bleyer, Bridgett Craw, Sam Durant Hunter, Stephen Orr, Elisa Nikoloulias, Bill Nolte, Angela Schultz, Mathew Scott, Sydney Shepherd, Jody Williams-Tutt, and Allan Washington.
Ryan Scott Oliver's musical We Foxes, directed by Mike Donahue, closes the reading series on September 12. The cast of the Southern Gothic thriller comprises Ben Fankhauser, Forrest McClendon, Anne L. Nathan, Ben Platt, Aaron Ramey, Katie Thompson, and Emily Rogers, with Andie Alhadeff, Will Erat, F. Michael Haynie, Victoria Huston-Elem, Ellyn Marie Marsh, and Joel Waggoner.
