Stephen Adly Guirgis' Between Riverside and Crazy Extends Off-Broadway

The new drama stars Stephen McKinley Henderson.

Atlantic Theater Company's production of Stephen Adly Guirgis' new play, Between Riverside and Crazy, has extended its run at the Linda Gross Theater through Saturday, August 23. The new drama officially opened July 31 and was originally scheduled to close August 16.

Directed by Austin Pendleton, Between Riverside and Crazy tells the story of Walter "Pops" Washington, an ex-cop and recent widower whose landlord wants him out as he struggles to hold on to one of the last rent-stabilized apartments on Riverside Drive.

The company includes Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colón, Liza Colon-Zayas, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Michael Rispoli, and Ray Anthony Thomas. The creative team features Walt Spangler (scenic design), Alexis Forte (costume design), Keith Parham (lighting design), and Ryan Rumery (original music and sound design).

Guirgis' plays include the Tony-nominated The Motherf**ker With the Hat, as well as Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, among others.
