Kelli O'Hara, Donna Murphy, and More Broadway Stars Come Together in Support of 12-Year-Old Dancer Emily Sasfai

An onslaught of Broadway’s best have joined the social media campaign to lend their well wishes as the young girl undergoes brain surgery.

The Broadway community has joined together today in support of Emily Sasfai, a 12-year-old dancer who is undergoing major brain surgery. The surgery will remove an Arteriovenous-Malformation (AVM), which has been putting pressure on her optic nerve, causing a long stretch of blindness and severe pain. To help lift her spirits before and after surgery, Sasfai's friends started the hashtag #EmilysEnsemble for people to post their well wishes on social media. Several Broadway stars, including Kelli O'Hara, Donna Murphy, Jose Llana, Katie Rose Clarke, Cabaret's Kit Kat boys, and more have already participated in the campaign.

"We are completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support," said Emily's mother, Beth Sasfai. "Emily smiles every time she gets a new tweet. #EmilysEnsemble has turned an incredibly painful experience into a very uplifting journey."

Those wishing to show support can continue using #EmilysEnsemble on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Take a look at a few of the Broadway messages the young artist has already received.
