Christine Ebersole, Beth Leavel, and More to Remember the Late, Great Performer Elaine Stritch in Concert

Jeremy Benton, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, and others will also be on hand to “Rise, Rise, Rise” at 54 Below.

A cast of musical-theater favorites are set to come together to pay tribute to legendary Broadway performer Elaine Stritch on September 12 at 54 Below in 54 Sings Elaine Stritch. Eric Ulloa will direct, with music direction by John McDaniel.

During the event, the cast will sing the songs that made Stritch famous and tell the stories that made her infamous. Ben Rimalower will serve as the evening's host.

The announced cast includes Christine Ebersole (Grey Gardens), Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), Jeremy Benton (42nd Street), Hunter Ryan Herdlicka (A Little Night Music), Lindsie VanWinkle (White Christmas NT), Edward Hibbert (Mrs. Warren's Profession), Sara Jean Ford (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), and Shawna Hamic (The Last Ship). More performers will be announced at a later date.

Broadway legend Elaine Stritch died on July 17 at the age of 89. She made her Broadway debut in the comedy Loco in 1946 and is best known for her Tony-nominated roles in William Inge's play Bus Stop (1956), Noel Coward's musical Sail Away (1962), Stephen Sondheim's musical Company (1971), and the revival of the Edward Albee play A Delicate Balance (1996). She made her last Broadway appearance in 2010 as Madame Armfeldt in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music.
