A Family Thing, a new drama written by Orange Is the New Black scribe Gary Lennon, is eyeing a Broadway run in 2015, producers Jamie Bendell and Scott Prisand of Big Block Entertainment have announced. A timeline for production, casting, and a complete creative team will be announced in the coming months.

The play follows three estranged brothers as they reunite to settle unfinished business after a turmoil-filled childhood in the New York neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen. It received a trio of Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award nominations upon its world premiere in 2013 at the Echo Theater. Directed by Chris Fields, that production starred Saverio Guerra, Johnny Messner, Sean Wing, Elizabeth Regen, Andrea Grano, Maria Cina, Darryl Stephens, Paul Caramagno, Austin Hébert, Rayan Lawrence, and Stephen O’Mahoney.

Playwright Lennon received a 2014 Peabody Award for his work on Orange Is the New Black and previously wrote for two FX series, The Shield and Justified. He is currently a co-executive producer on the Starz series Power. His plays include Blackout, .45, and The Interlopers.
