The U.S. premiere of Caitlin Murphy’s Fruits Unheard Of, an award-winning biographical play about American photographer Diane Arbus, is being presented by the Working Artists Theatre Project August 9-30, with an opening night on August 14. The production is staged in an art gallery featuring works by a variety of New York-based artists.

The play takes a nonlinear, impressionistic approach to the story of Diane Arbus. It features actors Lil Malinich as Arbus and Martin Markaj as every other person in her life. A selection of photographs inspired by the play are displayed in the gallery space.

The Working Artists Theatre Project company comprises, for the most part, people working professionally in the Broadway world. The project serves as a forum for working artists to expand their experience to encompass a variety of theatrical fields and careers.
