Ghostlight Records will release the original cast recording of the unique off-Broadway hit Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, the company has announced. A release date for the album, which was recorded on August 26, has not yet been announced.

Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 was created by Dave Malloy and directed by Rachel Chavkin. The cast includes David Abeles, Brittain Ashford, Gelsey Bell, Catherine Brookman, Nick Choksi, Ken Clark, Ashkon Davaran, Blake DeLong, Amber Gray, Luke Holloway, Dave Malloy, Grace McLean, Azudi Onyejekwe, Paul Pinto, Phillipa Soo, Lucas Steele, Shaina Taub, Mariand Torres, and Lauren Zakrin. The show, currently playing at Kazino, will close on September 2.

The show’s plot draws from a portion of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace and follows Natasha Rostova, who arrives in Moscow to await the return of her fiancé from the front lines. When she falls under the spell of the city’s most charming rogue, it is up to the disillusioned Pierre to pick up the pieces of her reputation.
