Zoe Levin (The Way Way Back), Ali Marsh (In Plain Sight), Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield), and Nilaja Sun (No Child…) will join the previously announced Emmy Award winners Blythe Danner (Nice Work If You Can Get It) and Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex and the City) in Manhattan Theatre Club’s upcoming production of Amanda Peet’s The Commons of Pensacola. MTC Artistic Director Lynne Meadow will direct the dark comedy, which begins previews at MTC’s New York City Center — Stage I on October 22 in advance of a November 21 opening.

In The Commons of Pensacola, Judith (Danner) has been divested of her assets and forced to leave her New York lifestyle behind after her husband’s Wall Street scam became national news. When Judith’s daughter Becca (Parker) and Becca’s filmmaker boyfriend (Stahl-David) pay her a visit at her new home in Pensacola, Florida, everyone’s motives are called into question. The dark comedy marks the professional playwriting debut of Peet, an actress best known for her performances in the films The Whole Nine Yards and Igby Goes Down.

The creative team for The Commons of Pensacola includes Santo Loquasto (scenic design), Tom Broecker (costume design), Jason Lyons (lighting design), Jill BC Du Boff (sound design), and Thomas Schall (fight director).
