Five Point Productions’ Staging of American Games by Kevin Slack to Hit Off-Broadway

This production by Syracuse University alumni will be directed by Phil Blechman.

The off-Broadway premiere of Kevin Slack’s American Games is set to run at The American Theater of Actors from September 3-8 with direction by Phil Blechman. The production will be produced by Five Point Productions and will open The Araca Project 2013, an initiative to foster young entrepreneurs from several U.S. universities.

American Games follows baseball’s Henry Wool, a player who is widely considered to be the greatest pitching prospect in the history of the sport. When Wool decides to leave the game, he must deal with the consequences of fame, power, and history.

The cast of American Games will feature Taylor C. Hays, Matt Maretz, T.J. Clark, Hayley Palmaer, John Walter, Chelsea Niven, Gabriel D. Wright, Sam Platizky, and Malcolm Yancey.

Set design will be by Ellie Engstrom, costume design by Simon Brett, lighting design by Joel Behrman, and sound design by Andrew Sowers.

Five Point Productions is a new production company that strives to produce quality work featuring graduates from Syracuse University.
