Emmy Award-Winning Picket Fences Star Tom Skerritt Completes Broadway Cast for A Time to Kill

Skerritt will join Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins, Fred Dalton Thompson, and more on Broadway this fall.

Producers Daryl Roth and Eva Price have just announced that Emmy Award winner Tom Skerritt will be making his Broadway debut in Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes’ stage adaptation of John Grisham’s best-selling courtroom drama A Time to Kill. He will be joining the previously announced Sebastian Arcelus, Chike Johnson, Patrick Page, Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins, Fred Dalton Thompson, John Douglas Thompson, and Ashley Williams, as well as Dashiell Eaves, J.R. Horne, John Procaccino, Tijuana Ricks, and Lee Sellars.

“We are so thrilled to welcome the enormously gifted Tom Skerritt to this production of A Time to Kill,” said Roth and Price in a statement. “His uncanny mixture of warmth, command and intelligence have been on display throughout his remarkable, decades-spanning career, and will undoubtedly bring our Lucien Wilbanks to vivid life on Broadway this fall.”

Best known for his work on the CBS drama series Picket Fences, Skerritt has appeared in Los Angeles and Seattle productions of A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters and as the stage manager in the Intiman Theatre production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher. He has starred in a number of films including M*A*S*H, The Turning Point, Alien, A River Runs Through It, Steel Magnolias, Top Gun, and Contact, among others, while his additional television credits include Brothers & Sisters, Leverage, and Cheers.

Previews are set to begin on September 28 at the John Golden Theatre, with an official opening set for October 20.
