The production, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon), is expected to open March 20.

Featuring the classic Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice score with songs like "Friend Like Me" and the Academy Award-winning "A Whole New World," Aladdin will use a new book and additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer). The creative team also includes Bob Crowley (scenic design), Gregg Barnes (costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), Ken Travis (sound design), Jim Steinmeyer (illusions), Josh Marquette (hair design), Michael Kosarin (music supervisor/vocal and incidental arrangements), Danny Troob (orchestrator), and Glen Kelly (dance music arranger).

Casting for Aladdin will be announced in the coming weeks. The musical will play a pre-Broadway engagement at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre from November 13 through January 14. It premiered at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theater in 2011 and played a summer 2012 run at the Muny in St. Louis.
