Bryce Clyde Jenkins and Acclaimed Director David Cromer Join the Cast of Denzel Washington-Led A Raisin in the Sun

The upcoming Broadway production will be directed by Kenny Leon.

Additional casting and an official on-sale date have been announced for the Broadway revival of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, starring Denzel Washington. The production, which will begin performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on March 8, with an opening night on April 3, will also star 13-year-old Bryce Clyde Jenkins and acclaimed director David Cromer (Our Town).

Kenny Leon (Stick Fly) will direct this new version of the classic story of three generations of the Younger family. When Lena’s deceased husband’s insurance money comes through, she dreams of moving to a new home and a better neighborhood in 1950s Chicago.

The cast of A Raisin in the Sun will also include Tony winner Diahann Carroll (Agnes of God), Oscar-nominee Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda), Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose (Caroline, or Change), Stephen Tyrone Williams (Lucky Guy), Jason Dirden (Fences), and Tony nominee Stephen McKinley Henderson (Fences).

General on-sale will begin on Saturday, September 21.
