Jenni Barber, who played the role of Joan in The Nance starring Nathan Lane, will join the cast of Broadway’s Annie. Barber will take on the role of Daddy Warbucks’ assistant, Grace Farrell, on August 20 and will continue in the role through November 3. Grace O’Malley will then return to the role following her performance in Honeymoon in Vegas at Paper Mill Playhouse.

Annie features a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Martin Charnin, all of whom received Tony Awards for their work during the original 1977 production. The revival, which opened at the Palace Theatre on November 8, 2012, stars Taylor Richardson and Sadie Sink in the role of Annie, and Anthony Warlow as Daddy Warbucks.

Barber made her Broadway debut as Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in 2007 and starred in the short-lived Broadway run of The Performers in 2012.
