terraNOVA Collective Announces 2012-2013 Season

terraNOVA Collective has announced plans for its 2012-2013 season.

The season will include the world premiere of P.S. Jones and The Frozen City (December 5-23) by Robert Askins, a comic-book superhero adventure directed by José Zayas. The design team will include Jason Simms (set design), Ryan O’Gara (lighting design), Carla Bellisio (costume design), Jane Shaw (sound design), Imaginary Media (video design), and The Puppet Kitchen (puppet design).

Also in December, the company will present a return engagement of UBU (December 4-16) by Adam Szymkowicz. Directed and performed by Daniel Irizarry in partnership with One-Eighth, UBU is an Ubu Roi-inspired romp through the absurdist world of the most powerful CEO in the universe. The design team will be comprised of Mikiko Suzuki MacAdams (set design), Frankenstudio (puppet design), Lucrecia Briceno (lighting design), Marea Judilla (costume design), Marcelo Añez (sound design), and Alexandra Filipe (original composition).

In the spring will be the world premiere of Ken Urban’s The Correspondent (March 20-May 4), presented in partnership with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Directed by Stephen Brackett, the play focuses on a grieving husband who hires a dying woman to deliver a message to his recently deceased wife in the afterlife.

The season will conclude with terraNOVA’s 10th Annual soloNOVA Arts Festival in May 2013.
