Michael Yates Crowley and Michael Rau’s company Wolf 359 is set to present the premiere of their play Song of a Convalescent Ayn Rand Giving Thanks to the Godhead (in the Lydian Mode), September 15-29 at IRT.

Written by Crowley, the play features Crowley and Rau playing all of the characters (including Beethoven, Wittgenstein, Alan Greenspan, and Maury Povich) themselves in an exploration of art, suffering, and compassion in Tea Party-era America.

A current member of the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at Juilliard, Crowley’s work has been seen locally at 59E59 Theaters, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, PS 122, HERE Arts Center, 3LD, Dixon Place, and Ars Nova.

In New York, Rau’s work has played at PS 122, Ars Nova, HERE Arts Center, The Bushwick Starr, The Brick, 59E59, and Dixon Place. He is a recipient of a 2006 Kennedy Center Directing Fellowship, a 2007 New Play Network Directing Fellowship, and a 2008 TCG National Conference Grant.
