New York Film Festival Announces Additional Special Selections

The New York Film Festival will include screenings of Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher's new Metropolitan Opera production of Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore starring Anna Netrebko and Matthew Polenzani and the world premiere of Richard Foreman's first feature film in 35 years, Once Every Day, among its special events.

The Festival, which runs September 28-October 14, will also features a "Mastwerworks" series that will include screenings of the director's cut of Frank Oz's Little Shop of Horrors, Laurence Olivier's Richard III, David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia, Federico Fellini's Fellini Satyricon, Bob Rafelson's King of Marvin Gardens, and Alfred Hitchcock's Marnie, among other films.

In addition, there will be a special 25th anniversary screening of Rob Reiner's comedy The Princess Bride, and the director and several cast members will be on hand to talk about the making of the film.
