Kritzerland to Issue Second Limited Edition of Newly Remastered 1971 Follies Recording

Kritzerland will issue a second limited edition the newly remixed and remastered 1971 original Broadway cast recording of Follies. A first pressing from the label, limited to 1,500 copies, has already sold out. The new issue will be limited to 1,000 copies.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Goldman, the show centers on two couples as attending a reunion of the fictional Weismann Follies girls. Among the numbers in the show are “Losing My Mind,” “Broadway Baby,” “Beautiful Girls,” “Waiting for the Girls Upstairs,” and “I’m Still Here.”

Directed by Harold Prince and Michael Bennett, the original cast featured Alexis Smith, Dorothy Collins, Gene Nelson, and John McMartin in the central roles, along with Yvonne De Carlo, Ethel Barrymore Colt, Fifi D’Orsay, Dick Latessa, Victoria Mallory, Mary McCarty, and Ethel Shutta, among others.
