Jessica Hecht and Judith Light will star in Manhattan Theatre Club’s Broadway production of Richard Greenberg‘s new play, The Assembled Parties. Lynne Meadow will direct the production, which will perform at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre beginning March 19, 2013 with an opening date scheduled for April 17.

The play is set in 1980 and 2000, centering on an Upper West Side Jewish family, and a house guest who insinuates himself into the family drama.

Hecht recently concluded a run in the Roundabout’s Broadway revival of Harvey. She received a Tony nomination for A View from the Bridge. Light won a 2012 Tony Award for Other Desert Cities, and was Tony-nominated for her work in Lombardi. She won two Emmys for her work in ABC’s One Life to Live, and is also well known for her Emmy nominated roles on Ugly Betty and Who’s The Boss.

Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
