Jekyll & Hyde, Starring Deborah Cox and Constantine Maroulis, to Play Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre

Jekyll & Hyde star Constantine Maroulis has tweeted out that the show’s Broadway engagement will open at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in April 2013.

The show is launching a 25-week national tour at the San Diego Civic Theater on October 2.

As previously reported, Maroulis pays the dual roles of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde with Deborah Cox as Lucy, Teal Wicks as Emma Carew, Laird Mackintosh as John Utterson and Richard White as Sir Danvers Carew.

The cast will also include David Benoit, Jerry Christakos, Dana Costello, Wendy Fox, Brian Gallagher, Sean Jenness, Mel Johnson Jr., Miles Johnson, James Judy, Ashley Loren, Courtney Markowitz, Aaron Ramey, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Rob Richardson, Blair Ross, Doug Storm, Haley Swindal, and Jason Wooten.

Conceived for the stage by Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, the musical features a book & lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, music by Wildhorn, and will be directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun.

The show is based on the acclaimed novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, about a London doctor who accidentally unleashes his evil alternate personality in his quest to cure his father’s mental illness. .
