Stage and screen star Hugh Jackman will be honored by New York’s Museum of the Moving Image at its annual fundraiser, the Salute, to be held at Cipriani Wall Street on December 11.

Jackman received a 2012 special Tony Award for his contributions to Broadway and appeared on the Great White Way last season in Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway. He also won a Tony Award for The Boy From Oz., and his other stage credits include A Steady Rain, Oklahoma!, and Sunset Boulevard. As previously announced, Jackman is slated to return to Broadway during the 2013-2014 season in the musical Houdini.

His numerous film credits include X-Men: Wolverine and Australia, and he will next be seen on screen starring as Jean Valjean in the movie adaptation of the musical Les Miserables.

Funds raised from the Salute support the programs, exhibitions, and educational activities of Museum of the Moving Image. The education programs, which include curriculum-based tours, screenings, and workshops, serve nearly 60,000 students per year.
