The novel, Struck by Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal, centers on a high school senior who blackmails fellow students to contribute to his literary magazine. The book will be released on November 20.

In addition to his work on Glee, for which he received a Golden Globe Award and two Emmy Award nominations, Colfer appeared in the staged reading of Dustin Lance Black's 8, and earlier this year released the book, The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell.
