Anika Larsen to Join Off-Broadway Cast of Closer Than Ever

Anika Larsen will join the Off-Broadway cast of Closer Than Ever, presented by York Theatre Company at Saint Peter’s Church.

She takes over for Julia Murney, who will depart the cast on August 25. Broadway veteran Leslie Kritzer was initially announced to replace Murney, but has withdrawn due to a scheduling conflict. Larsen’s first performance will be August 28, and the show is currently scheduled to run through September 30.

With lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and music by David Shire, Closer Than Ever is a musical about holding onto love, friendship, security, and happiness in a world that pulls us in a hundred directions at once.

Maltby directs the production, with musical direction by Andrew Gerle and choreography by Kurt Stamm. The cast also features Jacquelyn Piro Donovan, George Dvorsky and Sal Viviano.
