New York Philharmonic Opening Gala, with Deborah Voigt, to Be Broadcast on PBS

The New York Philharmonic's Opening Night Gala will be broadcast on PBS as part of Live From Lincoln Center on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:30pm. Alan Gilbert will conduct the program.

As previously announced, the performance will feature soprano Deborah Voight. Among the offerings on the program will be Samuel Barber's The School for Scandal Overture of 1931, selections from Richard Strauss' Salome and Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser, as well as Barber's Andromache's Farewell.

Voigt is currently starring in the Glimmerglass Opera production of Annie Get Your Gun.
