Lysistrata Jones to Play Broadway’s Walter Kerr Theatre

Lysistrata Jones will transfer to Broadway, beginning performances on November 12 at the Walter Kerr Theatre in anticipation of an official opening on December 14. Dan Knechtges, who staged the show off-Broadway for the Transport Group, will once again direct and choreograph the production.

The show, inspired by Aristophanes’ Lysistrata and featuring a book by Douglas Carter Beane and music and lyrics by Lewis Flinn, is set at Athens University, where head cheerleader Lysistrata Jones swears to hold out on “giving it up” until the school’s basketball team reverses its seemingly hopeless losing streak.

Casting and creative team for the production will be announced in the near future.
