Kevin Earley to Sing Lead Role on Death Takes a Holiday Cast Album

Kevin Earley will sing the lead role of Prince Sirki/Death on the original cast album for the new musical Death Takes a Holiday, currently being presented by the Roundabout Theatre Company at the Laura Pels Theatre. As previously reported, Earley replaced original star Julian Ovenden, who has been suffering from layringitis since July 19.

PS Classics will record the album on August 8, with a planned release date of October 11. The musical, which is based on the dramatic play by Alberto Casell and rewritten for the American stage by Walter Ferris, features a book by Thomas Meehan and Peter Stone, and a score by Maury Yeston. Doug Hughes has directed the production.

In the show, Death arrives at an Italian villa, disguised as a handsome young Prince, and for the first time experiences the joys and heartbreaks of life, including falling in love with a newly engaged young woman.

The cast also includes Linda Balgord (Contessa Danielli), Matt Cavenaugh (Eric Fenton), Mara Davi (Alice), Joy Hermalyn (Cora), Jay Jaski (Lorenzo), Simon Jones (Dr. Dario Albione), Rebecca Luker (Duchess Lamberti), Patricia Noonan (Sophia), Jill Paice (Grazia), Michael Siberry (Duke Lamberti), Alexandra Socha (Daisy Fenton), Don Stephenson (Fidele), and Max Von Essen (Corrado Montelli).
